Val studied Fine Art at Liverpool college of art, and went on to teach art at the junior art school. Her main interest has always been the face and body, which led to portraiture, but now concentrates on groups of figures and their visual interaction.

The artist has exhibited widely around the North West and has been awarded a number of prizes, including first prize in the 2004 Wirral Open, and second prize in the Chester Open in 2005.

Each original work is framed with a simple wooden frame, but not glazed.

prints are produced in a limited edition of 250, and sold signed and numbered.
