Patrick went to Wallasey Art School and Liverpool College of Art and Design in the 1960s, when graphic design exploded onto the music scene and in society generally, and has developed his interest in illustration from this era. The posters of Alfons Mucha depicting elegant women with hair wreathed ornamentally with decorative flowers and Gustav Klimts use of ornamental and floral motifs on his portrayals of women are a major influence, as well as the psychedelic images from the 1960s music posters.
This has led to Patricks interpretation of the female form, in classical or pastoral poses with flowers decorating their bodies and spilling into the background, to create a sympathetic and symbolic image that suggests the sensual and romantic nature of women.
Each image is produced in a limited edition of 100, and is sold mounted, signed and numbered.
