Born and raised in Liverpool from 1974 I have had the privilege of coming from a city vibrant in creativity. I studied Communication Media at Maidstone College of Art & Design between 1993 and 1996 specialising in Illustration. Graduating with a 2.1 BA (Hons) I spent a year in London before moving back home to the place that I love.
I try to keep my work fresh and therefore subject matter is derived from pop culture. I'm inspired by street art as much as when I'm in the Tate or Walker Art gallery. My influences are Picasso, Basquiat, Warhol, Aztec culture and any Japanese animation preferably by studio Ghilbli. I'm definitely a promoter of new technology and borderline geek. All of my work is produced digitally but I believe the sketchbook is not dead yet and also have a stack of post-it notes on my desk with doodles crying out to be developed! Often ideas will start as a sketch or an idea on my phone and progress to a more polished version on my Mac.
All images are produced in a limited edition of 150 and are also available in larger sizes on request.
