David finds inspiration from the natural world as well as the environment about us. This influences many subjects including wildlife, landscape and abstract pieces in a variety of mediums. He often likes to apply texture, leave brushstrokes, use pearlescent paint or mediums to add value and give a sense of energy to his work as well as providing the viewer something else to interpret. On other occasions he will mix realistic images with abstract elements for an enhanced effect.
Frequently lifted by the ability of art to promote reaction, to inspire and, on occasion, unearth deep emotion David is keen to leave something in his art that will achieve engagement and hopefully provoke such a response from the viewer.
