Barbara graduated from Liverpool John Moores art school in 2006. She grew up in Liverpool and her work is reflective of the mixed fortunes of the city over the years, with the choice of colours she uses in her painting indicative of the positive and vibrant atmosphere retained by Liverpool and its people, whatever they face.

These works take Liverpool as their subject, and embrace its diversity and growth-

"The paintings are fused with semi-abstract versions of city landmarks, creating semi-realistic plans, reflecting the warmth of the cultural differences that co-exist in the environment. The term "plan" gives the impression of transience, enabling the plan to evolve and the city to become interchangeable, in accordance with the requirements of its population."
