Andy Banks completed a BA (Hons) Fine Art, Painting & Drawing at the University of Huddersfield in 2008 and has been a studio based artist and educator in Bootle, Liverpool ever since. He says of his work:
"My recent paintings are inspired by Musical Theatre and films such as "Into The Wild" and "Walk The Line" based on true stories but facts are altered and idealised. This is my interest by taking an image of an historic event from World War two books or other history books or magazines, and creating an idealised place of fantasy and surreal environment that still has connotations to contemporary life issues."
