art classes

dot-art at the Bluecoat

We run a program of art classes and courses, in a wide range of subjects, hosted by Liverpool's landmark arts centre, the Bluecoat. All our sessions are delivered by experienced local tutors and teachers.

Evening courses run for 10 weeks and start in September, November and March, so keep checking back for new listings and see the online calendar below. If you would like further information, or to suggest a subject for future class, please get in touch.

photowalks

Sundays, 10.30am-2.30pm. March 18th and May 20th 2012. Cost: £25

Experienced photographer and teacher Steward Ellett leads a guided walk around the architectural highlights of Liverpool looking at different ways of capturing photos using various in camera techniques. Dress for all weathers and bring your camera!

life drawing

Tuesday evenings, 6.45-9.30pm. Next 10 week course starts 6th March 2012. Cost: £160 (£16 per session)
Tuesday afternoons, 2-5pm. 13th March, 3rd April, 15th May. Cost: £16

All life drawing classes are taught sessions, with instruction from experienced trainer and artist Roy Munday.

painting

Thursday evenings, 6.45-9.30pm. Next 10 week course starts 8th March 2012. Cost: £160 (£16 per session)

The ten week painting course covers an introduction to the use of watercolour, acrylics and oil painting, while the Saturday classes will concentrate on one media per month. Classes will be taken by experienced artist and teacher John Kneen, who will take students through each stage in a relaxed and friendly manner.

Thursday evenings, 6.45-9.30pm. Next 9 week course starts 8th March. Cost: £144 for 9 weeks / £18-23 per session.

A unique 10 week course allowing you the chance to try a new skill every week, or pick individual sessions of interest. Subjects for the Spring course are: gilding, digital photography, batik, ceramics, paper making, watercolour, book binding, stop motion animation, felt making and collage.
